Dating
back to 1924, the Alm was built to manage the summer
pasture at the east end of the Wamberger point. Due to
its central location, it is a favourite destination for
hikers preferring easier tours, and also pre-registered
groups looking forward to a cosy evening in the cabin’s
traditional, homey front room with the tiled stove, and
on request with local music as well. We will gladly make
dinner and menu suggestions
Awaiting the guests from the terrace is a breath-taking
panoramic view of the Zugspitze in the west over to the
Alpspitze, Dreitorspitze, Wetterstein in the south, and
Karwendel
mountain ranges all the way to the Soier region in the
east. In ideal weather conditions, the view even reaches
all the way to the Tirolean Alps. In good weather the
Elmauer Alm is open for service in the summer as well
as the winter months between 10 am and 5 pm.
Evening
functions are possible with prior reservation. The Alm
is closed between the beginning of November until 25th
December and for approx. 3 weeks in the spring. During
very bad weather, the Alm may be closed, and signs will
be hung up at central points. Should conditions be uncertain,
please do not hesitate to call Alpengut Elmau on 08823
/ 9180 in order to avoid a disappointment during your
planned hike. Naturally we would also be pleased to welcome
and serve you here at our restaurant „König-Ludwigs-Einkehr“.
Open every day of the week
