A Multitude of Sports Activities in Nature's Midst

A secluded world of mountains and unspoiled alpine pastures awaits hikers and experienced alpinists alike. Nearby mountain lakes and the neighbouring hotel’s indoor and outdoor swimming pools are inviting for bathers.

Mountain-bikers will find the most beautiful tours of varying difficulty. Windsurfers can expect ideal conditions on Walchensee, for kayaking and rafting the Isar and Loisach rivers are perfect.

Nearby is a tennis school with three sand courts, as well as Schloss Elmau’s outdoor swimming pool and several golf courses offering further fitness possibilities for the summer months.

In the wintertime, Elmau is the ideal starting point for the most beautiful ski slopes of the region: Mittenwald, Garmisch, Zugspitze, Ehrwald, Seefeld and Innsbruck.

Cross-country skiers will find the start of a 35 km ski-run just 500 yards away, leading them into the unparalleled beauty of pristine nature. On request, beginners can take lessons with professional instructors.

At the moment there are no horse-riding lessons available at Alpengut Elmau itself.
We gladly offer our guests’ children and young adults the opportunity to go riding at „Schmalensee Gestüt“, approx. 15 minutes away by car near Mittenwald.

During the school vacations, Schloss Elmau offers the program „Die Abenteuerferien“ (The Adventure Holidays) for children and young adults. Early reservation is necessary for the hotel's kindergarten and nursery school

There are three clay tennis courts directly in the vicinity of Schloss Elmau’s outdoor swimming pool with a meadow designated for sunbathing and general relaxation. In the summer months one can take lessons. (Racquet rental available)
We will gladly reserve a court and on request, lessons. Afterwards one can rest and relax in the outdoor swimming pool or in the sauna at the Ferchenbach brook.

The Family Spa of Schloss Elmau with a large indoor pool, bio-sauna, finnish-sauna and rooms for massages and beauty treatments, is looking forwad to your visit. There is a daily service charge for towels and refreshments.

In the gym, classes like Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong take place daily, free of charge.

A visit in the new "Badehaus" with its original Hammam may be booked as a "Day-Spa-Package".
